Project Protoprint

Promoting Socio-economic Transformation by Empowering Informal Waste Pickers for the Production of 3D Printing Filaments in Pune

Project Protoprint is a collaborative partnership that intends to transform the informal recycling sector through the gradual implementation of a circular and socially responsible model for plastic waste recycling.
The project is supported by the European Union’s SWITCH-Asia program and implemented through a consortium led by Kashtakari Panchayat. Through the project, informal waste pickers will be empowered to set up and operate recycling units that convert plastic waste into recycled flakes, granules and 3-D printing filament.
